FinPoint Advises on Sale of Idea Bank Ukraine to TAS Group

Getin Holding S.A. has successfully completed the sale of 100% of its shares in JSC Idea Bank Ukraine to Alkemi Limited, a member of TAS Group. The transaction, signed in October 2024, received all required regulatory approvals from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine. It was approved by the Getin Holding Board of Directors and publicly disclosed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in accordance with Polish stock market regulations.

“We are pleased to have successfully completed the sale of Idea Bank Ukraine to a strong and reputable investor. This transaction marks an important milestone for Getin Holding, allowing us to conclude our operations in Ukraine,” said Piotr Miałkowski, President of the Management Board, Getin Holding S.A.

The transaction closed on 23 April 2025, with Getin Holding receiving a purchase price of $36.5 million, along with approximately $675,000 for the transfer of a deposit and $194,000 under an exclusivity agreement. Total proceeds reached nearly $37.4 million.

The Idea Bank transaction represents a major development for Ukraine’s banking sector. It is the largest completed banking M&A deal since 2016 and the first banking and fintech transaction since the full-scale invasion in 2022. The bank attracted strong interest from multiple potential buyers, including international investors, signaling renewed investor confidence in Ukraine’s financial market.

This transaction marks more than a decade of FinPoint’s advisory relationship with Getin Holding and further strengthens FinPoint’s reputation as the leading advisor in Ukraine’s financial sector. It is the 26th banking and fintech transaction completed by FinPoint since its inception in 2003.

FinPoint and Rothschild & Co (Warsaw office) acted as exclusive financial advisers to Getin Holding S.A. FinPoint was represented by Sergiy Budkin, Oleg Kovtun, Roman Menshov, and Yurii Zamoiskyi.
